Grievance Procedure

DRSC Grievance (Complaint) Procedure

DRSC provides services for people with disabilities.  We make decisions about the types of services we can provide based on multiple factors listed on our Request Help page.

DRSC is required by federal law to have a grievance procedure so clients, prospective clients, and their family members may express concerns about the services they received or if they were denied assistance from us.  If you are unhappy in any way with the services you received from DRSC, please complete our grievance (complaint) form.

What is the Review Process

Once a grievance is submitted, it will be reviewed by a supervisor. They will respond to you within 10 business days.

How to Appeal that Decision

If you do not agree with the supervisor’s response, you have the right to appeal to the Executive Director. You must submit this appeal in writing within 10 business days of getting your response. Your first response will tell you how to file this appeal.

If you do not agree with the Executive Director’s response, you have the right to appeal to the Chair of the Board’s Grievance Committee. You must submit this appeal within 10 business days of receiving your response from the Executive Director. Your response from the Executive Director will tell you how to file this appeal. The Board usually meets four times a year. If the Grievance Committee gets your appeal more than 30 days before the next Board meeting, it will be reviewed at that meeting. If the Grievance Committee gets your appeal less than 30 days before the next meeting, it will be reviewed at the following Board meeting.
