Priorities for Case Assistance 2024-2025
DRSC does not have the resources to provide case assistance for everyone. DRSC offers resources and referral information to clients that do not fall under our priorities for case assistance. Below are DRSC priorities for case assistance. Please note that case assistance may include self-advocacy guidance, short-term advocacy assistance or legal representation.
- People who face institutionalization or re-institutionalization due to a lack of community-based programs and services
- People who reside in Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and want to transition to the community
- Abuse, neglect, and exploitation of adults or children by service providers
- SSA Representative Payee exploitation
- Students who need individualized behavioral services and support
- Students who have not received appropriate education under the IDEA in the juvenile justice system
- Individuals seeking or who have been denied vocational rehabilitation services
- Recipients of SSI or SSDI who are facing barriers to work
- Individuals with ID/ASD who are facing barriers to employment services
- People who are experiencing voting challenges
- People who are experiencing barriers to community living
- People who are experiencing housing discrimination
- People who are experiencing employment discrimination
