For two years in a row we have had to cancel the annual gala due to Covid-19. In an attempt to make up for this fundraising shortage we are asking for your support during Midlands Gives. Every dollar donated, up to $6,000, will be matched! This past year has been challenging for so many South Carolinians, especially for people with disabilities.  Your donation will help ensure that we can continue to protect the rights of people with disabilities in South Carolina.

Since the beginning of the pandemic we have been busy advocating for equal protection in the standards of care guidance that hospitals followed, monitoring residential facilities where visitation was restricted, and the inclusion of people with disabilities in the earlier phase of vaccine rollout. We have also advocated for the protection of state employees with disabilities who were being asked to return to the workplace without being vaccinated. In addition, DRSC is working closely with other advocacy partners to pass legislation that will create an Employment First Act that will lead to more integrated and competitive employment, and Subminimum Wage Bill that will transition away from paying people with disabilities subminimum wages in sheltered workshops.

Thank you in advance for your contribution. It means a lot to have your support!

Thank you to our Midlands Gives Match Fund Donors: Kirkland and King Financial, Jim and Leslie Lassiter, Extra Mile Consulting, and Spectrum Retirement Services Corporation.
